Lady and the Bum, the Disney story

I decided to make this recipe because it reminds me of the Disney story “Lady and the Bum”. In one of its famous scenes, the two protagonists sit at a table, eating spaghetti from the same plate, until, without realizing it, pulling the same spaghetti, they end up kissing.

It was one of my favorite childhood movies and it brings back many memories.

Spaghetti Bolognese

Ingredients

  • 1 jar of crushed tomato
  • 500 g of spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 lemon in juice
  • Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 400 g of minced meat
  • Fresh basil
  • Oregano Parsley
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste

· Preparation

  1. To prepare the bolognese sauce we need to place a saucepan on the stove and heat a generous splash of extra virgin olive oil in it. When we have it ready, we add the garlic clove, previously peeled and sliced, until it heats up. Then, we add the onion, finely chopped, and let it poach.
  2. When the onion has taken on color, we add the crushed tomato and lower the heat so that it cooks without turning the kitchen upside down. After a couple of minutes, we add salt to taste together with a tablespoon of sugar to remove the acidity of the tomato, and a little bit of oregano and parsley. We stir everything well and let the tomato cook for about 15 minutes on low heat.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix the minced meat with the juice of half a lemon, and season it with a little parsley and salt to taste. We put extra virgin olive oil in a frying pan and, when it is hot, we add the meat to it and leave it until it is golden brown but not completely done.
  4. Then, we put the meat in the saucepan with the tomato sauce and let it finish cooking over low heat.
  5. Meanwhile, we cook the spaghetti in a saucepan with plenty of water and a little salt to taste. When they are al dente, we drain them and pour them into the bolognese sauce saucepan so that they absorb all the flavor of the meat and tomato.
  6. When serving the spaghetti Bolognese, we can add a little grated Parmesan cheese and, if we like, fresh basil that gives it a great flavor. In this way, you will obtain an authentic plate of pasta with which you will succeed at the table.
