Chocolate & Strawberry Pancakes

Ingredients (serves 2-3)

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup chocolate chips
  • 6-8 strawberries, sliced
  • Maple syrup (optional)

Elaboration

  1. Prepare the batter: In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Combine: Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until smooth. Do not overmix.
  4. Add chocolate chips: Fold them into the batter.
  5. Cook the pancakes: Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil. Pour small amounts of batter to form pancakes.
  6. Flip: Cook for about 2 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve: Stack the pancakes, top with fresh strawberry slices, and drizzle with maple syrup if desired.
