Chocolate & Strawberry Pancakes

Ingredients (serves 2-3)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp melted butter
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup chocolate chips
- 6-8 strawberries, sliced
- Maple syrup (optional)
Elaboration
- Prepare the batter: In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Mix wet ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Combine: Slowly pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring gently until smooth. Do not overmix.
- Add chocolate chips: Fold them into the batter.
- Cook the pancakes: Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or oil. Pour small amounts of batter to form pancakes.
- Flip: Cook for about 2 minutes until bubbles form, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve: Stack the pancakes, top with fresh strawberry slices, and drizzle with maple syrup if desired.
