One of my hobbies is travelling and getting to know different cultures. It is a tradition in my family to try typical dishes from the places we visit. I could say that I have tried the typical dishes of different regions in Spain (Galicia, Asturias and Andalusia, for example).
I have also been to other European countries.
The recipe I am going to explain is typical of the island of Malta, and they are pastizzi filled with ricotta cheese, peas, spinach, pork and apple.
They are crispy puff pastry pasties. They are served hot and can be made either fried or baked in the oven.
What caught my attention is that they are sold in many shops and food trucks. They can be eaten at any time of the day. The one I liked the most was the pastizzi with pork.
