WHY?
I chose that recipe and that song because they’re two important elements for one of my favorite films: ‘The perks of being a wallflower’, directed by Stephen Chbosky. This movie is about a group of teenagers (one of them, with some socializing troubles), and it’s based on my favorite novel (with the same title).
The main character is Charlie, a “weird” boy who’s new at the high school and becomes friend with a girl and a boy of school’s last year. Then, he’s invited to a party where he offered to prove him a really special brownie, almost illegal. It’s a very funny scene, and really special. He’s so cute in that moment!
I relate the recipe with the song because Heroes is the most important song in the movie, sounds in the emotional ending and it has so much meaning in the film. Therefore, these two moments – musical ending and funny party scene – are my favorite of a great work of art.
Brownies and David Bowie’s most famous song are two really important things in ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ and, for me, it’s a delicious food and a beautiful music. A good choice, in my opinion.
Song: Heroes, by David Bowie.
I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can beat them, just for one day
We can be Heroes, just for one day
And you, you can be mean
And I, I’ll drink all the time
‘Cause we’re lovers, and that is a fact
Yes we’re lovers, and that is that
Though nothing, will keep us together
We could steal time,
just for one day
We can be Heroes, for ever and ever
What d’you say?
I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim
Though nothing,
nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, for ever and ever
Oh we can be Heroes,
just for one day
I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can be Heroes, just for one day
We can be us, just for one day
I, I can remember (I remember)
Standing, by the wall (by the wall)
And the guns shot above our heads
(over our heads)
And we kissed,
as though nothing could fall
(nothing could fall)
And the shame was on the other side
Oh we can beat them, for ever and ever
Then we could be Heroes,
just for one day
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
We can be Heroes
Just for one day
We can be Heroes
We’re nothing, and nothing will help us
Maybe we’re lying,
then you better not stay
But we could be safer,
just for one day
Oh-oh-oh-ohh, oh-oh-oh-ohh,
just for one day
Receta: Brownies de chocolate
Ingredientes:
– 250 gramos de mantequilla sin sal
– 125 gramos de harina de repostería
– 225 gramos de azúcar
– 150 gramos de chocolate para fundir
– 4 Huevos L
